The monsters of every child's nightmare are the missing links, which is why every culture has the same fairy tales about the same creatures suchbaby eating ogres, virgin loving dragons, 200 hundred year-old trolls. They are all real except vampires; they are complete and total fiction. If it is not man or beast, it is knowna Link. If it is something the rest of the world, doesn't understand or acknowledge Special Unit 2 deals with it.
With the exception of vampires, every monster from folklore and mythology is a missing link between apes and humans, and they all seem to love Chicago. To combat the threat, Chicago PD formed Special Unit 2, known to the rest of the departmenta deep-cover plainclothes unit they should steer clear of, to hunt them down and eliminate them. Officer Kate Benson, who has always been seeing things out of the corner of her eye since childhood, gets recruited into the unit when she discovers people are being kidnapped by real-life gargoyles for food and is paired up with trigger-happy Nicholas O'Malley.
The very first episode that I saw of "Special Unit 2" I was already addicted to the show. After the first show, I started taping it off the air. The story lines were great. It was a whole new ballgame compared to "Men in Black." Why did Upn have to cancel the show? At least I have the shows on several tapes…if I can find them. <br/><br/>How did the writers come up with fresh ideas? One episode that I remember almost crying because they showed the aliens that killed Nick's first love. In another episode, Nick nearly dies because he mets Medusa and Carl looks at Nick's near death body and says, "If you see any light don't go near it." Nick suddenly sees this bright light and angelic music, and then Carl's head is front of him blocking the light. Telling him to avoid the light. <br/><br/>Upn, if you are reading this…please bring back Special Unit 2. Thank you.
Anyone know where i can purchase Special Unit 2 DVD online?<br/><br/>This TV series was also telecast in Singapore back in 2002/2003, Managed to see a couple of episodes but was shock that it was canned after Season 2. Storyline was simple Good couple of character development episodes, Villains based on myths we heard all the time, Actions was Great, if you remember Season 1 episode 3 "The Wraps" or Season 1 episode 2 "The Pack". Cannot remember Most of Season 2,it did not have time to catch it then. Heard that the UK TV Series "TouchWood" is along the same lines? Still looking for the DVD if anyone can tell me where to get it online?
